Inspired by the History Assessments of Thinking (HATs) suggested by The Digital Inquiry Group, the To The Past – Canadian History Assessments of Thinking (CHATs) were developed by Nathan John Moes to provide theoretical and practical support for Canadian teachers assessing historical thinking skills.
