Topic: Canadian History, WWII
Historical Thinking Skills: Contextualization
Time Period: 1939-1945
Contextualizing a primary source is the process of utilizing an understanding of historical perspectives and the social, political, economic, cultural or intellectual factors of a historical period to better understand the trace or account we are interacting with.
In this assessment students are provided with two contrasting sources, and are invited to identify key contextual information which might help historians better read and understand how these differences may have emerged.
